A future bookie, perhaps?

On Saturday, Jacob said, "I have an ear infection." With a prediction that dire and direct, who am I to argue? I immediately called a nearby after-hours clinic to make an appt. since our pediatrician is on "summer schedule" which, as I just found out on Saturday morning, means no Saturday morning office hours. Sure enough, the doctor took one look at his right ear and said--"He has an ear infection." The left one was full of wax and its status could therefore not be determined.

All of my pediatrician rantings aside, why is it that our doctor can run a schedule ahead of time with a full patient roster, and the weekend/evening clinic we went to on Saturday, which gave us the appointment time of 1:30--even though we were the only other people in there (they had to turn the lights on for us, for crying out loud-- and yes, there was lots of that--and not just from Jacob)-- made us wait an hour before being seen??

Oh, I digress. Anyhow, lest you be too impressed by the prognostications of our 2-year-old, when it later came time to trying to locate Little Blankie, or LB, all bets were off. After spending a large chunk of Sunday and this morning looking for him (it?), including driving back to said pediatric clinic twice, calling them, retracing all steps in between, I was on the floor looking under the couch and chairs one more time (it had to be the 10th time) and I saw a little bit of knit-work smudging out from under the Baby Bjorn potty chair on the living room floor. Oh joy. Because if nothing has yet to go into the potty chair, at least I found the one thing that had gone under it--before I lost all remaining sanity.
